Areas of Practice

Cataracts

When the natural lens inside of the eye becomes cloudy, it is referred to as a cataract. Cataracts cause the vision to become increasingly blurry. Cataract surgery involves removing the cloudy lens and replacing it with an artificial lens implant to restore the vision. Dr. Levine performs advanced cataract surgery, utilizing the latest in intraocular lens implant technology. If you are a candidate for cataract surgery, Dr. Levine will take the time to thoroughly explain all of the details of surgery, as well as all of the available intraocular lens implant options.

Oculoplastic Surgery

Oculoplastic surgery encompasses both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures around the eyes. Some common procedures performed by Dr. Levine include: ptosis (droopy eyelid) repair, upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty, eyebrow lift, ectropion (turning out of eyelid) repair, entropion (turning in of eyelid) repair, tear drain blockage repair, chalazion removal, Botox and Filler injections. Dr. Levine uses minimally invasive techniques whenever possible to achieve the desired result. Please refer to the Surgical Gallery page to view examples of pre and post-operative surgical patients.

General Eye Diseases

In addition to cataract and oculoplastic surgery, Dr. Levine is adept at diagnosing and treating a vast array of general eye disorders. While working as a professor of ophthalmology at the Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City, Dr. Levine was the director of the inpatient ophthalmology service at the affiliated New York Presbyterian Hospital. In this role, Dr. Levine supervised the eye care of all hospitalized patients requiring ophthalmologic services. Dr. Levine also worked with ophthalmology trainees in a busy comprehensive ophthalmology clinic and was honored to receive the “Resident Teacher of the Year Award” twice during his tenure at the Weill Cornell Medical Center.
